The recent undisputed world heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis argued he did not hate Anthony Joshua, following serious accusations that surfaced lately.

Lewis once tried to become Anthony Joshua’s promoter — this was during Joshua’s Olympic glory. But the Joshua went on to sign up with Matchroom Sports, and now does business with the company’s owner’s son, Eddie Hearn.

Some assume that Lennox Lewis disliked Joshua for this very decision.

One of the things that got people talking about this imaginary hatred was Lewis’ statement which claimed that a win over Otto Wallin and Francis Ngannou should not qualify Joshua to fight for the undisputed world heavyweight title.

What Lewis had suggested at the same time was that it would be more reasonable if the victor between Joseph Parker (who beat former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder) and Zheilei Zhang fought for the four belts instead.

Lewis posted the following on X in defense of his statements concerning Joshua:

‘Yeah… just so much hate. Get off the Eddie Hearn narrative and open your eyes. I only became “hater” after i criticised them for not making the Wilder fight for UNDISPUTED when they had the chance.

‘The Hearn narrative is that i was bitter and hating on at AJ for not signing with me. I was not.’

Joshua is still to fight former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou on March 8 at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The winner will get a chance to fight whoever wins the undisputed world heavyweight championship bout on February 17, be it Tyson Fury or Oleksander Usyk.
