Though both fighters might not meet for a match till the latter part of the year, PFL chief executive Peter Murray said that such a fight would be interesting.

Francis Ngannou surprised the world of boxing during his debut last year in which he fought the WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury.

Having just left the UFC then and joined the PFL, the Cameroonian went into the ring a novice. But a controversial split decision stopped him from being crowned the winner.

Wilder who later suffered a defeat to Joseph Parker had been talking about fighting Ngannou. So was Anthony Joshua, Derek Chisora, and others.

The Cameroonian will now fight Anthony Joshua, but Peter Murray said the following about a possible bout between the Wilder and Ngannou:

‘Big fight. Still a big fight despite Deontay’s loss. He’s an incredible athlete, hard-hitting fighter and I think this would be a fresh look on him,” Murray said.

‘I think Francis would agree that those two in a cage, with four-ounce gloves, that would be a fight and a fight fans would want to see.

‘So it’s definitely a conversation.’

Such a fight is expected to happen in the octagon. Neither of the two fighters have given a public reaction on the topic.
