UFC CEO Dana White Following Francis Ngannou’s Loss To Anthony Joshua: ‘You know how I feel about crossovers in boxing’
UFC CEO Dana White finally reacted to the result of Anthony Joshua versus Francis Ngannou.
Ngannou who got knocked out in the second round of a crossover boxing match against Anthony Joshua was once a UFC heavyweight champion.
Following Ngannou’s exodus from the promotion last year, he signed up with PFL and landed a fight contract with WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.
The applauded match ended in Ngannou’s favour to an extent that several heavyweights wanted to do business with him. The fact that Fury was declared the winner did nothing to diminish his superb performance during the fight.
However, the Cameroonian MMA superstar got knocked out this time in a very brutal manner.
Speaking at UFC 299, UFC chief Dana White said the following:
‘I saw it on social media. If Fury trained for the fight and didn’t show up and look like he ate Tyson Fury, that’s probably the way that fight would’ve ended too.’
‘You know how I feel about crossovers in boxing, that’s how they end, just like that.’
What bouts might the fighter chose next? Fury boasted last year that he would beat Ngannou in the octagon, while a bout with hard-hitting Deontay Wilder remains a possibility for the African.
Another possible bout is that between Ngannou and new PFL heavyweight champion Renan Ferreira who floored Bellator’s Ryan Bader recently.
Fans are not in the dark concerning what Ngannou said he would do. The fighter said he would rest and decide which fight to pick.
