WBC drops verdict on Alycia Baumgardner following doping test

The WBC has given a shocking decision concerning female undisputed champion Alycia Baumgardner following an adverse test result.

Journalist Dan Rafael posted on X recently to break the news.

He wrote, ‘BREAKING: Per 4 sources with knowledge of results & paperwork I obtained, undisputed women’s 130 champion Alycia Baumgardner tested positive for banned steroid Mesterolone in 7/12 urine test conducted by Drug Free Sport, 3 days prior to Linardatou fight. Results came back 8/10.’

WBC gave this statement on their site after investigations:

‘Based on the Adverse Finding in Ms. Baumgardner’ A Sample, and considering all factors both sides presented, the WBC arrived at the conclusion that there was no conclusive justification to reject the accuracy of the Adverse Finding based on the evidence and arguments the Response and supplemental information presented.

‘However, that same evidence and arguments do not conclusively support Ms. Baumgardner’s intentional ingestion of Mesterolone for performance enhancement purposes.

‘Accordingly, the WBC found Ms. Baumgardner not guilty of intentional ingestion or consumption of a banned substance for performance enhancement purposes, and confirmed her as reigning WBC Super Featherweight World Champion.’

Many are disappointed by the step.
