Several heavyweights are talking about fighting Francis Ngannou in the ring, but his latest reply was about fighting Anthony Joshua.

Former lineal heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua’s team have aired their desire to have their man face Ngannou in a professional boxing match. Furthermore, Matchroom’s Eddie Hearn boasted that Joshua can beat Ngannou in few rounds.

Ngannou has taken time to reply to the assumption.

‘I am willing to fight him [Joshua].

‘Even Tyson Fury said the same thing [that he would knock me out] and Tyson Fury is better than Anthony Joshua. So what do I care about what people say?

‘I’ve been in this game for so long, I have seen so much and I have heard so much about what people intend to do [to me]. There is a difference between wanting to do and being able to do.’

Joshua’s next opponent is Swedish southpaw Otto Wallin. Both will fight on the same day as former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder who would be facing Joseph Parker.

When asked who would win between Wilder and Parker, Joshua implied that Wilder was not the better opponent. This was a safe but seemingly controversial prediction, coming at a time Joshua and Wilder are not in good terms.

The continuous falling apart of negotiations to get them to meet for a professional faceoff has done little to make both friendly to each other.

‘50-50 match up,’ Joshua said. ‘When I assess the styles that’s why I make it 50-50. Remember, Joseph Parker is a former champion, so is Deontay Wilder, so credit to both of them for stepping up to the plate and may the best man win.’

It is rumoured that if Wilder and Joshua won their separate bouts on December 23, them would most likely fight in the future.

Francis Ngannou might not decide to fight lesser heavyweights, as his comment on fighting Joshua indicated.

There are whispers of Ngannou possibly meeting Wilder in the octagon, but no agreement has been signed yet.
