AS Roma says goodbye to Jose Mourinho

AS Roma announced on their official website, asroma.com, that Jose Mourinho has been relieved of his duties at the club.

Mourinho who joined the Italian side in 2021 helped them win the Europa Conference League trophy that season.

However, things have not been moving well for Jose Mourinho and his players recently, the team having picked up 29 points from their last 20 Serie A matches. Furthermore, they won only one of their last six league games.

The following statement was posted on the club’s website recently:

‘We would like to thank José on behalf of all of us at AS Roma for his passion and efforts since his arrival at the club.

‘We will always have great memories of his tenure at Roma, but we believe that an immediate change is in the best interests of the club.

‘We wish José and his assistants all the best in their future endeavours.’

The giant coach was sacked six months before his contract with the club ended.
