Brentford’s Marcus Gayle given Football Black List award

Former Brentford player Marcus Gayle received a Football Black List award recently in recognition of his efforts against ‘anti-discrimination’.

Gayle who started his career at Brentford before playing for several other teams made over 400 appearances for the club, and was inducted into their Hall of Fame before getting this award.

A Football Black List award is given to individuals of black or Caribbean backgrounds who are inspiring people in the field of football.

It was the conclusion of those who gave him the award that Gayle’s labour among primary schools to stop what the West see as discrimination deserved the loud recognition.

Speaking concerning the development, Brentford’s director Nity Raj said the following to Brentfordfc.com:

‘Marcus plays an invaluable role at the club. He has continued to go over and above in his efforts to educate our community about anti-discrimination.

‘Marcus’s work embodies our values at the club – we’re so proud to have him here. His Football Black List Award is well deserved and a reflection of the impact he’s making.’

Marcus Gayle remains an ambassador at the club as he has been in a good while.

Brentford meets Chelsea today in the Premier League race while sitting in the 16th place on the Premier League table.
