Brighton fans knifed at Rome, away team releases statement
Some Brighton fans were either knifed or thrown objects at in Rome in connection with a match between AS Roma and Brighton. The away team had to release a statement.
Two supporters of Brighton were knifed near the famous Colosseum in Rome during an attack by seven masked people. Thankfully, both are still alive and have left the hospital by the time of this report.
Furthermore, objects were thrown at fans of Brighton who attended Roma’s stadium to see the game in person, so the visitors officially reacted as follows via a statement:
‘We are aware of the bottles, coins and lighters being thrown by home supporters into the away end.
‘We have reported to UEFA and Italian Police and requested immediate action to be taken.’
Another thing is that fans have been advised to not wear jerseys or other clothes signifying support for the visitors in the neighborhood.
