Cristiano Ronaldo supports Francis Ngannou with £110k limited edition watch ahead of weekend bout with Tyson Fury

Former UFC superstar Francis Ngannou disclosed that Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo recently gifted him a £110k watch when they met in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Cameroonian mixed martial artist Francis Ngannou did this through a surprising post on his Instagram wall, where he referred to Cristiano Ronaldo as his brother.

The professional fighter is preparing to meet Tyson Fury, the WBC heavyweight champion, in the ring for a professional boxing contest that fans of combat sports are mostly excited to watch. This was after the Cameroonian dumped Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lately when he grew offended at how much the company paid fighters and the firm’s handling of artists’ wellbeing. It was not only Ngannou that had an opposite view from that of the company; the matter is an old topic at the UFC.

Ahead of Francis Ngannou’s soon-coming fight with Tyson Fury at Riyadh, the fighter met up with Cristiano Ronaldo, who also works with Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr. It was at this meeting that the football star gifted the respectable fighter a costly limited-edition watch. Ronaldo has since declared himself a fan of mixed martial arts and boxing, saying once that he preferred watching these combat sports instead of football. It is also a possibility the skipper is a fan of Francis Ngannou’s.

Speaking after receiving the goodwill gift, the MMA professional now turned professional boxer revealed how happy he was about the gift, which seemed to be custom-packaged for Cristiano Ronaldo by Jacob & Co. (the company that made the VIP watch).

Francis Ngannou wrote on Instagram, ‘Got to pick up my new watch ahead of fight week here in Riyadh. Thank you @jacobandco Riyadh & my brother @cristiano! FuryNgannou.’

In retrospect, Ngannou disclosed what he discussed with the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner.

‘We had a good talk. He told me that Saudi Arabia is the future,’ he said. ‘A lot of people don’t understand now but they are changing really fast, it’s moving really fast. And that’s even what I personally, that was my feeling when I got there.

‘It was my first time going to Saudi and I was literally like, I didn’t really know how to carry myself, how to behave myself. But I get there and find out that everything is cool. It was just like normal life. It’s pretty cool, man.’

Cristiano Ronaldo has been given a contract beforehand by Saudi Arabia that includes being given a certain amount of money for any promotion of the country. Ronaldo’s arrival in ‘The Gulf Kingdom’ set off a flow of high-profile arrivals to the kingdom’s league, a phenomenon that shows how much influence Cristiano Ronaldo has among both football players and sports-loving regions like Saudi Arabia.
