Football Expert Andy Brassell: Is Bayern Munich wrong for signing Harry Kane?

Football expert Andy Brassell had something to say about whether Bayern Munich’s decision to sign Harry Kane was wrong.

Though the Englishman scored 27 league goals this season, Bayern Munich is still suffering on the table. Furthermore, other holes that were ignored during the signing have started becoming evident.

Given the amount of money that changed hands during the huge signing, it was expected that the club would be in a bigger position on the league table by now.

But one question that Andy Brassell answered while speaking to talkSPORT during an exclusive interview was whether the former Premier League player is earning his keep at the German side.

‘This narrative about Harry Kane going somewhere and Bayern all of a sudden not winning the league for the first time in 12 years, obviously that’s ridiculously harsh,’ Brassell was saying.

‘I think you have to ask why did they buy him in the first place? Now, the obvious answer is to replace Robert Lewandowski.

‘But, the other answer is they end up going and spending over £100million on a striker, which is not a very German thing to do, because they had a lot of cracks to cover.

‘Management, their transfer policy, has not been what it should be over the last little while. There are holes everywhere else in the team.

‘[Bayer] Leverkusen would’ve gone into this weekend with a 10-point advantage had Harry Kane not scored a stoppage time winner against [RB] Leipzig last week.

‘I mean, 27 league goals this season, he could not have done anymore.’

Now even though the player was proven not guilty by the expert, it is still possible he would leave at the end of the season.

However, it is also likely he would stay.
