Lionel Messi talks about this year’s December: ‘It’s the first time that I am going to have more days off in December’
Superstar Lionel Messi is back following a brief but costly battle with a leg injury. As rumours say, the lineal GOAT will feature in Inter Miami’s contest with Charlotte FC. He spoke about what he would do this December when his duties for club and country were out of the way.
Messi’s comeback goals in Argentina’s victory over Peru on Wednesday were as stunning as they were encouraging for his fans, club members, and country. The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner had to watch his club members get beaten by American clubs that were likely happy with the development. After Inter Miami was knocked out of the MLS playoffs by accumulated bad results, the club that won the Leagues Cup title last season saw just how important it was to have Lionel Messi in their team.
The Argentine’s last interview brought answers to whether he would play against Charlotte FC and also what he would be doing this December.
Messi’s words were, ‘I will train, I will play our upcoming match [against Charlotte] and I will try to get [to the national team] in the best possible way for November. After that, I will enjoy the holidays in Argentina. It’s the first time that I am going to have more days off in December, with the holidays, with peace of mind, with my people. In January, I will return again to do preseason. Start from scratch and prepare as best as possible as always.’
In reaction to people’s direct questions to him after this interview, Coach Tata Martino said he was not going to say whether the star will play in that match until he has had a conversation with him. Martino might not bring in the player if he thought him psychologically unprepared after the short turbulence.
Tactician Martino said.’I saw Leo’s interview, saw what he said, but I just had time to say hello to him [Wednesday] and we have not had time to talk. The most important thing is the 90 minutes he played [for Argentina], that he felt well and played confidently and not worried about his injury.
‘Sometimes your head plays games with you after injuries. Thursday we will see if he is also ready to play Saturday.’
