RFEF President’s Relatives Have Divided Opinions On Kiss Controversy

The relatives of the defamed RFEF president Luis Rubiales have shown divided opinion over their views of the man and his action at the FIFA prize-giving ceremony. This came after the respectable figurehead kissed a female player on the lips during the event.

A former journalist, Juan Rubiales, who is his paternal uncle, depicted him as a man of bad character who needs reeducation in matters of dealing with women, while several from his mother’s side think the president is being unjustly treated, and was a good man.

An insight into the the situation in Spain came to light after their interactions with various reporters. The predominant fact is that there is fear of being treated badly by supporters of Jennifer Hermoso, the other actor in the controversial kiss at the prize-giving ceremony.

Speaking to the press, Rubiales’ cousin Vanesa Ruiz Bejar said the family was ‘suffering a lot’ in the wake of the noise that followed the kiss. She made this statement at the church Rubiales’ mother attended in Motril, where the FA president’s mother was recently holding a hunger strike. The strike has since come to a hold after 48 hours, after her old body could no more deal with the excruciating hurdle.

Father Antonio, a priest from the church revealed how she gave up.

‘Angeles has been taken as matter of urgency to the Sant Ana hospital after suffering a health crisis, a panic attack,’ he said. ‘The discomfort was due to high temperatures and other factors. She had swelling in her feet and obvious signs of fatigue … She won’t be coming back here … She left about 6.15pm via a back door of the church.

‘She still wasn’t eating and was just drinking water and isotonic drinks but my understanding is she’ll have to break her hunger strike now

I don’t know if she is being accompanied by relatives now and how she got to hospital because I didn’t see an ambulance.

But Luis Rubiales spoke to her before she went and between various relatives they decided Angeles should go to hospital.’

The old woman was released in the early hours of Thursday.

Juan Rubiales made several serious accusations at his nephew while speaking to reporters. In his statements he said, ‘He’s a man obsessed with power, luxury, money and even women. I think he needs a social re-education program.’

He also admitted that the only dignifying stance his (Juan’s) family could take is to side with Jenni Hermoso.

But Venesa Bejar thinks the opposite, and throws a light on what a lot of Rubiales’ other relatives thought.

‘Luis’ mum who is a very religious person has sought refuge in God and started a hunger strike. She doesn’t want to come out of the church. We are all suffering a lot because of what’s happened to Luis which doesn’t seem at all fair to us.

‘He’s been condemned already without being tried. It’s not normal. We won’t to be left alone. The facts speak for them, there are videos, there are audio recordings.’
