The FIFA WWC 2023 kiss-scandal player, Jennifer Hermoso has decided to take a break from public eyes following the mass of media attention the controversy generated. The 33-year-old is hiding in Madrid after the RFEF president Luis Rubiales exposed a video where the player was joking with her team mates about the kiss scandal.

Rubiales himself, who has also been out of sight for a while, had to appear at a  church in Motril where his mother had gone to stage a since-ended hunger strike. This is because the 72-years old woman fell into a bad situation from the extended hunger.

Early on Thursday, the RFEF president also chanced the odds to go and take his then-released mother from the hospital.

In the wake of the kiss at the World Cup final, the Spanish citizenry became divided roughly into those calling for the sacking of the football federation president and those declaring their support for him.

As those who rallied behind Jenni Hermoso put up signs bearing ‘Contigo Jenni’ (meaning ‘with Jenni in Spanish), those in favour of the RFEF president’s version of the story have also showed up with placards to support the president.

Even Rubiales’ immediate relatives have divided opinions about the situation, with his uncle going into details to defame the Spanish icon.

Opinions have arrived from several constituents of the Spanish government, condemning the disgraceful kiss the president demonstrated at the ceremony, calling for his resignation. However, the RFEF president has made it clear that he was prepared to fight till the end while speaking to a Spanish assembly, emphasizing thrice that he would not resign.

To dethrone the president of the RFEF, a court case has to be filed against him by a person. Preparations are in place that might lead to an official court case being filed against him, but Jenni Hermoso seems more concerned with going back to her domestic club at Mexico. The player is beginning to find the situation very disturbing.

She is with her family and closest friends. Also, she has been told not to use the social media for the moment. The player is only in contact with those working with her on this case.
