Colby Covington says when he’ll return following unfortunate title contest
Colby Covington’s title fight at UFC 296 was a bad sight, and the promotion’s CEO Dana White later said the contender was slow and old. Now Covington has told fans the time he would return.
Having claimed that his wounded foot was the reason he got beaten by Leon Edwards, he is expected to return a better fighter.
Speaking to Submission Radio lately, the recovering fighter said:
‘Thankfully, it wasn’t displaced, so I didn’t have to get surgery.
‘It’s just a time thing. Eight to 12 weeks of healing, and then probably another three to four weeks of getting my footing back and being able to plant of it.
‘I’m gonna have to build up some strength on my other hip again and the other side of my leg from not having any pressure on it for the last two months.
‘Thankfully no surgery, and I’ll be back in no time, by summer, for sure. I’ll be back ready to main event, headline, do the biggest and best business in the UFC. For sure this summer. People are gonna be shocked… I’m coming back stronger than ever.’
Some fans expect that.
