United States’ MMA fighter Colby Covington failed to beat Leon Edwards as he boasted he would, disappointing both former president Donald Trump and UFC CEO Dana White. Michael Chandler has taken a little time to mock Covington for his pre-match boasts.

‘I said after three rounds, Colby has taken 1776 shots to the face and had zero offense,’ Chandler said to Inside Fighting.

Michael Chandler is an American professional mixed martial artist. He currently competes in the Lightweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Chandler has been a professional fighter since 2009 and gained notoriety while competing for various organizations.
He was born on April 24, 1986, in High Ridge, MO. He weighs 156 lbs and stands at a height of 5’8″.

He went on to say, ‘If Colby’s offense was an accurate depiction of the U.S. military, we would have never gotten our independence, lost World War I and lost World War II.

‘One hundred percent (he let down Trump). It was worse than weak. It’s actually only because Colby made such a big deal about it.’

Speaking following the match, UFC CEO Dana White expressed his disappointment in Covington’s performance.

‘I think pressure gets to everybody,’ White began. ‘I’m sure Leon had a ton of pressure. Leon was just talking about what he said to his father, and you know, the last thing you want to do is to go out and lose to that guy.

‘All these guys deal with pressure, but Colby has been in big fights before. This isn’t Colby’s first rodeo, he’s been in big fights. Colby just looked slow and old tonight, in my opinion.

‘I guess my take on it, and let me know what you guys think, but when you’re 35 years old or any age in this sport, and you’re like, “Yeah, I’m going to wait,” waiting is never a good idea in this sport. This sport doesn’t wait for anybody.

‘I think he looked slow tonight. He got outwrestled. Leon looked good. He looked fast. (Covington) Looked like he had trouble dealing with his speed and getting outwrestled, too. And not to mention the fact that Leon absolutely destroyed that leg.’

The promotion’s heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, who is still on the sidelines due to an injury, has reacted to Edwards’ victory, promising he would gift him a Harley Davidson motorcycle if he wanted.
