‘I’m going to go in there and try and take his head off,’ says Bobby Green ahead of Jalin Turner bout
Bobby Green of UFC’s lightweight division boasted he will decapitate his short-notice opponent Jalin Turner in a bout that will be held today.
Previously, Bobby Green (31-14-1 MMA, 12-9-1 UFC) was to fight Dan Hooker (22-12 MMA, 12-8 UFC), but the latter was disqualified by an injury he sustained in a victorious faceoff with Green’s future opponent Jalin Turner (13-7 MMA, 6-4 UFC).
Speaking to journalists to grant a peak into the future, Green boasted he was going to be careful in the first rounds, but would decapitate his opponent later in the fight.
‘Especially in that first round or two, he comes really hard,’ predicted a confident-sounding Green. ‘I’m expecting that from him. Be careful, make sure I don’t make any mistakes, and I’m going to go in there and try and take his head off.’
Now Bobby Green sounded unexcited about having to face Turner instead of the man he might have trained very much for.
‘It really sucks because that had Fight of the Night on it,’ he revealed.
‘But I think me and Jalin are going to do our thing, too. My most important thing is just setting out classics, stuff that can be watched, something that’s timeless, and keep getting those Fight of the Night awards.
‘That’s where I was really at with it, but I think Jalin is going to do the same thing.’
