Josh Thomson to Khamzat Chimaev: ‘Since when does Dana give a sh*t what he’s promised?’

Commentator Josh Thomson was speaking to UFC middleweight contender, Khamzat Chimaev, lately. He implied during his discussion that UFC CEO Dana White was untrustworthy.

Chimaev esteems himself worthy of contending for the UFC middleweight title. The only qualification he has seems to be the promotion’s CEO’s alleged promise.

Thomson said the following about Chimaev and the UFC middleweight title bout:

‘He hasn’t fought one contender at 185 pounds and he’s over here saying he deserves a title shot.

‘Give me somebody in the top five. You have a dominant performance and you look good at 185 pounds against someone in the top five, I’ll say, “Go right ahead and give him a title shot.”

‘But right now, after listening to his interviews and all this, he sounds like a crybaby. “I was promised this! I was promised that!” Since when does Dana give a sh*t what he’s promised? We’ve seen before, he’s promised fighters a lot. Look, you didn’t have a great performance against Kamaru Usman… Not a good look.’

New middleweight champion, Dricus Du Plessis, is expected to defend his title in UFC 300 against Nigerian former champion, Israel Adesanya. Many think that Chimaev might get an opportunity to contend for the title thereafter.
