Khamzat Chimaev rejects UFC match: ‘Not fighting in Ramadan’
Unbeaten UFC middleweight contender Khamzat Chimaev rejected a match offer over Ramadan.
Sports journalist Ariel Helwani formerly said that the UFC planned to feature one of four specific fighters in the approaching UFC 300.
Among the names listed by him was Chimaev’s whose last bout took place last October, but the fighter has now shown he would not be fighting to the surprise of fans. He would not fight during the religious days of Ramadan.
The MMA artist’s mind became known after a long time of being expected to entertain combat sports’ fans once more.
In reply to a fan’s Instagram comment which showed that the fan hoped to see him fighting at UFC 300, Chimaev replied as follows:
‘Not fighting in Ramadan.’
For obvious reasons, it is unlikely the fighter would change his mind.
