Though formerly not one to choose his own opponents, undefeated welterweight contender Michael Morales has announced his intent to fight Ian Garry.

Michael Morales (16-0 MMA, 4-0) was speaking to MMA Junkie recently when the 24-years-old got asked whom he would like his next opponent to be.

Morales did not think too much as it seemed the answer was already settled since.

The Ecuadorian replied in Spanish, ‘Ian Garry, Ian Garry.’

Then he went on to express how much he desired to meet the fellow-welterweight in the octagon.

‘If I get the opportunity to fight him, I’ll welcome that,’ continued Morales. ‘He’s someone I want to fight. If I get the opportunity to fight him, that would be great.

‘I really dislike that guy. There’s nothing I like about him, but it’s not whatever I like or dislike, it’s whatever the UFC wants for me next

‘So if I get the chance to fight him, then thank you very much, but if it’s not him, I also welcome it. Whoever is next can get it.’

MMA artist Morales was yet to lose any professional fight and has kept the winning streak going under the banner of the UFC after winning a contract recently with Dana White Contender Series.

Going further while speaking, he explained why he would like to face Garry if the UFC would let it happen.

Morales said, ‘He said something like I’m coming up the rankings, but I’m coming up too fast and the fight against Max Griffin shouldn’t have happened or something like that.

‘I forget what site was the interview from, but said something along those lines.

‘He’s saying I should be fighting more experienced fighters, but he’s been almost knocked out in every single one of his fights, so I don’t think he can give his opinion on that.’

Though Morales’ next opponent is already settled, the UFC might grant his wish somewhere down the road.
