30-year-old Paul Pogba guilty of doping, and could be banned for 4 years
In the past, shocking news emerged, saying that a random test result claimed that Paul Pogba’s urine had traces of a synthetic enhancement substance called testosterone. A final decision on the matter was adjourned till a second sample, which later proved he really doped, was conducted.
After the first result was made known, Paul Pogba’s agent, Rafaela Pimienta, commented, ‘We are waiting for the counter-analysis, and until then, we can’t say anything. The certain thing is that Paul Pogba never wanted to break the rules.’
Three things that made the situation famous were Paul Pogba’s alleged wildness, his recent bondages to injuries, and the fact that the substance found in his system could only have gotten there through drug peddlers. Since testosterone was not part of any drug sold over the counter in Italy and is banned in the country, the incident could lead to the capture of figures involved in the substance’s distribution.
Sources allege that the substance can easily be purchased through the dark web in Italy, but that being caught with it or its products is dangerous. They went on to say that Juventus’ bigwigs might try to protect the player, something they pointed out would be a waste of time. In high-profile cases like this, it would be hard to save the guilty from a greater part of the punishment involved, since the global audience are the spectators.
The National Anti-Doping Tribunal in Italy has the job of deciding what happens next to those guilty, such as Paul Pogba, and will say what happens next to the player. Whatever they decide, Pogba is likely to miss more playing time at Juventus, where several struggles with injuries saw the talented player miss a number of matches.
It has not been revealed by the player whether the synthetic enhancer was a clutch with which to support his painful body on the pitch.
Paul Pogba is not recommendable to many because of his increasing acquisition of disqualifying injuries. Juventus might be happy to end their contract at the moment and send the player to his fate in the hands of the anti-doping tribunal.
