Mike Tyson’s most recent statement is a clear revelation of whom he believes will win today’s bout between Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury, but it is still unknown whether Ngannou understood the message.

Former UFC superstar Francis Ngannou is to fight Tyson Fury under the rules of professional boxing in a crossover bout that is the most anticipated for the year. The UFC man is respectable in MMA and was the heavyweight champion before he left the company to seek greener pastures in the boxing circle. Though none were offended by his decision to leave among fans when they heard why he made the surprising decision, most were dissatisfied that he challenged none other than boxing’s best, the WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

Towards the match, which had been named ‘The Battle of the Baddest’, Francis Ngannou enlisted the services of none other than Mike Tyson as both trainer and mentor, something many believe to have been an educated step at the time. But none seemed to think the MMA artist would beat the world champion except his boxing legend trainer, Mike Tyson, until Tyson said the following:

‘Hey I think [Fury] probably beats anybody that ever lived. It’s his day. We gotta give him his flowers. You know, you can say ‘Mike’s the greatest or…’ but he’s doing it now. It’s his day.’

Fury did not keep his feelings secret recently about Mike Tyson’s acceptance of his next opponent as a trainee, saying it was sad. John Fury, his father, had named him after Mike Tyson.

Another surprising prediction was that of a knowledgeable boxer such as Deontay Wilder, but some think his dislike for the man who dethroned him clouded his judgement.

‘I knocked him out,’ said former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder just recently. ‘I’m going with Ngannou, for sure. Hell yeah we’re going with the knockout. Let’s go Ngannou!’

After getting through the wounds he will obviously collect from this match, Tyson Fury will be readying himself to deal with the other heavyweight champion, Oleksandr Usyk. Usyk’s promoter has spoken about the fight lately, saying it will take place on December 23rd. He said the following while replying to whether there is a rematch clause in the agreement signed by the two heavyweight boxing champions:

‘Yes, exactly,’ said Usyk’s promoter Alex Krassyuk. ‘I’ll tell you why – this fight has been cooking for so long, and the whole world wants to see those two guys. Normally, when you have, let’s say, Avatar movie, the sequel comes next.

‘Why? Because the first was boom, the second should be boom as well. We have this in mind that people want to watch it. That’s who we are working for – the fans. That’s why bringing two fights of that sort will be something extraordinary for boxing.

‘I don’t think March is something that looks realistic, but let’s say normally the rematch takes place within six, maybe nine months. We have not settled the time for the rematch because you cannot plan it. This fight on the 23rd is still subject to Saturday night.’
