Francis Ngannou regrets something he did during bout with Tyson Fury

In a translucent statement, former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou admitted he regrets one of the things he did while contesting with Tyson Fury in the Battle of the Baddest.

Francis Ngannou’s faced the WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury in a crossover professional boxing match, which was his first, and performed so well that many still think he was the rightful winner of the belt his opponent got in the end.

Both boxers likely regretted some things at the end of the match. Tyson Fury, who was knocked down during the third round of the contest, would not recall the incident nor the widespread shaming and discussions it kindled in a fond manner, while Francis Ngannou will regret not delivering harder blows and doing more in the course of the professional fight, including the mistake he claimed he made.

The UFC fighter, who esteems himself as the rightful winner, is helplessly being made to stay in the line for longer than he would wish to because of something he did during the match. Ngannou and Fury had talked about a rematch during their pre-event public meetings—even a bout in the octagon—but until Tyson Fury faces Oleksandr Usyk in the undisputed world heavyweight championship bout, no professional faceoff is expected between the two.

Tyson Fury is the person suffering at the end of the match after suffering a black eye and a cut. Ngannou’s latest announcement was that he regretted cutting the champion following the inconveniences this started to cause, one of which was lengthening his wait time until a rematch with Tyson Fury.

‘I would be willing to wait [for the undisputed world heavyweight title bout to pas], they are going to fight sometime in February instead of December 23, which is my fault, I shouldn’t have cut him, then they would fight in December and then maybe we would have run it back earlier next year,’ said Ngannou.

He also indirectly rejected all requests for a bout with any of the heavyweights while waving off that with former unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.

‘First of all it’s to soon. Secondly, my most focus as far as boxing is concerned is my rematch with Tyson Fury,’ said Ngannou. ‘That’s the most important thing for me right now, everything else in boxing comes after.’

According to the founder of PFL, Donn Davis, Deontay Wilder would be pleased to face Francis Ngannou in the octagon. Now that Ngannou has turned down boxers that want him in the squared circle, it might mean he will give his time to MMA until further notice.
