Wallin is expected to meet Joshua, who is the former WBA, WBO, and IBF heavyweight champion, on December 23 to see that dream come true.

‘Getting this fight, I am so ready for it; I have been waiting for it for a long time,’ Otto Wallin said recently. ‘I think we both have a good idea of each other.

‘Joshua had his peak maybe around 2018; he deserves a lot of respect; he has come from humble beginnings. Now I feel like he is on his way down, on his way out, and I am going to help him and win this fight.’

WBC’s former heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder, has been looking forward to having a long-talked-about bout with Anthony Joshua but has failed to get Joshua to sign the contract. Fans have been asking for the match since they were lineal champions.

Wilder keeps speaking publicly to prove that Joshua was the reason the fight has not held. Following the announcement that both men would fight different opponents in Saudi Arabia on December 23, fans were both excited and dissatisfied. They liked the fact that the two great heavyweights would feature, but not that they would not be fighting each other.

‘It is good to be in the same room with him, to see him face to face, it has been a long time coming,’ Wilder commented not long ago.

‘I wish him nothing but the best and hopefully soon we can give the people what we want and get it on in the ring. I believe it is going to happen, it is about that time. But even if it doesn’t, I wish him nothing but the best.’

Some could assume that Joshua is afraid of fighting Deontay Wilder and losing his good rating, since Wilder is considered the better boxer. Joshua himself has complained of being under pressure while preparing to meet Wallin in the future, saying that pundits and fans were making him not like doing the sport anymore. It is also being discussed whether Anthony Joshua is nearing retirement.

‘People talking about how I have peaked have never seen a peak in their whole career, so I don’t know what they are talking about,’ Joshua once mentioned.

‘I can’t predict the future but I know where I want to go, I know what I want to do. I am a man of my word, I stick with what I believe, and I believe I am going to be three-time champion of the world.’

Fans of boxing would likely hope that the former champion would fight Wilder once on his way to winning a title for the third time. Deontay Wilder desires that very much.

‘It is all building towards it. Finally, it has been a long time coming, and finally everyone, the world, this is the biggest fight in the world,’ Wilder said.

‘This is bigger than Usyk, there is no fight bigger in the world no matter what combat sport it is. Me vs Joshua is something people have been talking about, it is something fans have harassed me and him about and people will be able to say ‘finally’.

‘To know that it is finally about to happen, it is crazy.’

It is still unknown whether Joshua is excited as much.
