Anthony Joshua being pressured to fight Deontay Wilder

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is under pressure to fight Deontay Wilder following the disturbing and continuous falling apart of negotiations to get the two into the ring as opponents.

The latest person to trouble Joshua was Wilder’s countryman Jarrell Miller.

Miller to Boxing News: ‘AJ’s a punk bitch. Eddie Hearn has been protecting him long enough. It’s about time he came back to America.

‘He came to America, Andy Ruiz – I call him Taco Bell, not racist because I’m half Mexican – whooped his ass and he has not been back since.

‘At least give me a chance to knock you out in America at some point. You can’t be a true champion if you come to America, get your ass whooped and never come back.

‘Tyson came to America, conquered and left. He’s a real world champion.’

Wilder’s trainer Malik Scott said the following about his client recently:

‘The real nightmare is he [Wilder] walks to you, he’s imposing, but he’s not slow, so that means the offence is coming at you at a rapid speed.

‘And you’re thinking maybe you can hit him back because his feet are out of position, but his head movement is on such a swivel that, not only is he ready to make you miss, he’s ready to make you pay with a 4, 5, 6 combination.

‘He’s probably the most dangerous fighter, you take out Deontay, Benavidez is the most dangerous man on the planet in my opinion. Mentality-wise, the punch output, the intent when he’s punching, the head control, his imposing will, his hard work.

‚I’m very impressed with him. He’s one of the fighters that I truly believe he would fight anybody, anywhere, anytime. I believe he would take less money just to prove he’s the best, and that’s very, very rare.’

Wilder has claimed he was not afraid of fighting anybody when he was asked whether he would accept a match with Jared Anderson whom Tyson Fury called a future heavyweight king.

‘He’s been doing what he’s supposed to do with the fights that have been put in front of him,’ replied Wilder. ‘I wish him nothing but the best and of course with all of them, not just him, as long as I’m in the business and they’re in the business and everything is going good and people want to see it, I don’t shy away from anyone, I don’t duck anyone.’

Joshua will face Swedish southpaw Otto Wallin on December 23 at the same event in which Wilder will contend with Joseph Parker.

If Wilder and Joshua won, they might finally meet each other next year.
