Anthony Joshua allegedly prayed ahead of today’s faceoff
British former unified heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, said he prayed ahead of his faceoff with Otto Wallin today.
He asked for God to make Otto Wallin lose the fight.
‘I’m happy, I’m jovial,’ Joshua began.
‘This is the best fight card in history and I wouldn’t wanna be anywhere else in the world right now.
‘If my prayers are answered I’ll get the win.
‘I’ve been focused, praying hard, and whatever God wants for me, I’m gonna follow that path.
‘It’s not just prayer, I’m following up with action as well.’
The Brit lost his WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight titles to Oleksander Usyk not long ago, and is hungry for a world title.
There have been discussions concerning his psychological state ahead of the fight, since his action following his loss to Usyk and his related statements later suggest that he lacked what it took to rightly handle defeat.
The man with whom he will be in the ring today, Otto Wallin, is a southpaw that the world’s best boxer Tyson Fury will not forget fighting. Wallin took Fury the distance and left with with a bloody face before the fight was over.
Since Oleksander Usyk was not a powerful puncher like Wallin but succeeded to beat Joshua, many are Wondering whether Joshua can deal with the Swedish southpaw.
Wallin has not ceased to comment that he sees fear in Joshua’s eyes, while attacking Joshua’s surprising change of trainers. The man training Joshua now is Ben Davison, a former trainer of Tyson Fury’s.
Whether the god Joshua prayed to will help him win is yet to be known.
