Why Victor Osimhen renewed contract with Napoli

Nigerian international footballer Victor Osimhen signed a new contract with Napoli which will last till 2026. Now his agent has said why it happened.

Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, explained why they both decided that Osimhen should remain at Naples even after Napoli’s recent stunning blunder.

Napoli posted a series of simply racist videos not long ago for which reason the player deleted everything that promoted Napoli from his Instagram wall.

Many expected their collaboration to end in a short while, while predictions started rolling out concerning the player’s next club. Nearly everyone was shocked when it was announced that the black player signed a new contract that would run till 2026 with the club.

Roberto Calenda explained why he and Osimhen accepted Napoli’s offer.

‘Victor is doing very well in Naples and wants to take the team as high as possible,’ Calenda said. ‘He has always said it and backed it up on the pitch. We just closed a historic deal in the history of Italian football. Let’s enjoy it.

‘I represent Victor and I want what’s best for him. We’ve both wanted a renewal since the summer. Last summer, plenty of offers arrived, some monstrous ones, but De Laurentiis wanted to keep Victor and we made ourselves available.

‘If we wanted to leave, we would have said so. Instead, we worked, a lot, to get the renewal done. Next summer it will be the same.’
