Morecambe native Tyson Fury released a new trash talk in a ‘rabbit face’ video he meant especially for his future opponent Oleksander Usyk.

Both heavyweight champions will lock horns on February 17 at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to prove whom should be the undisputed world heavyweight champion. Fury holds the WBC belt, while the WBA, WBO, and IBF straps are under Usyk’s care.

Speaking in an Instagram video, Fury said, ‘Another big day of running in the f****ing mountains, come on, easy work. Smashing Usyk’s little rabbit face right in for him, the useless piece of s**t.’

However, an unnamed member of Usyk’s crew said the following to Sun Sport sometime last year: ‘While Tyson Fury is enjoying his break in Saudi Arabia, which we saw The Sun write about, we are working hard on fight preparation.

‘We already have over 50 candidates for sparring who responded to our call and met the criteria. Three of them are signed up as the sparring partners for Oleksandr.

He later added, ‘They are from all over the world, they have different experience levels and we believe that such sparring could not only help Oleksandr prepare for the bout.

‘You will easily recognise what our sparring partners have in common – physical characteristics similar to Fury’s. They’re really big guys! And the call for sparring partners for Usyk is still open. So the list isn’t completed yet, it will only get bigger and bigger.’

This means that Gypsy King (Fury) should prepare to meet a smaller fighter who has tested out big pugilists of different calibres in the ring.

A loss to The Cat (Usyk) would be detrimental to his WBC rating and boxing career, since he nearly got beaten during his recent bout with boxing debutant Francis Ngannou.

But it happens that Fury’s team have contacted cruiserweight boxer Jai Opetaia for a sparring session with their man. Opetaia revealed this last year while speaking to Boxing Social.

‘Definitely man,’ Opetaia said. ‘As soon as they need that sparring, I’m there. I can’t wait for it. It’s gonna be a good experience for me, good sparring.

‘Good to be a part of a camp like that – they’ve got some good fighters, and just to feed off the energy, I’m really looking forward to.

‘I’m also looking forward to getting my name out there. I want them to know who I am as well.’

The cruiserweight man later announced he looked to enter the heavyweight division and wanted to know what to expect.

‘As a cruiserweight champion with one eye on a move up in future just like Usyk, the Aussie standout is also keen to test his skills against the undefeated Fury,’ he said.

‘You hang around world champs, it’s good to be a part of. Tyson Fury’s the heavyweight world champion, it’s huge.

‘To be able to move around with him. I want to do that. I want to see where I’m at against someone like that. I’m looking forward to it.

‘I’m a student of the craft, I’m keen to be around that atmosphere and learn.’

So, it seems that Oleksander Usyk should bear in mind that Tyson Fury is likely dancing around with shorter men of different calibres too. It would not look good to see Fury treat his face like that of a rabbit.
