Joe Joyce challenges Anthony Joshua

Formerly-undefeated heavyweight contender Joe Joyce said he would like to fight Anthony Joshua in the ring.

Joyce whose status as undefeated was brutally ended by China’s Zheilei Zhang is trying to return to the very top of the podium through tough fights.

Following a statement made by Saudi Arabian official Turki Alalshikh, promoters Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren are preparing to match their fighters against each other’s in an upcoming event.

But Joyce will face Kash Ali in Birmingham on March 16. He must have healed of any wounds before the fight card would likely be set.

Though contestants from Warren’s Queensberry and Hearn’s Matchroom have not been made public, Joyce believed he was able to represent Queensberry in the heavyweight division.

While in a conversation with Queensberry, Joyce said he would like to fight at the Matchroom Sports versus Queensberry Promotions card.

‘Yeah [I would fight on the card], why not? That would be entertaining.”

‘[Against] a certain ‘AJ’ maybe.’

However, it is very unlikely that Joshua who is out to hunt for a heavyweight title for the third time would have desire for such a bout.

Presently, Joshua is preparing himself to face Francis Ngannou whom many see as one of the hardest punchers in combat sports.

Only by defeating Ngannou can Joshua get to fight for the undisputed world heavyweight title which Tyson Fury or Oleksander Usyk will likely be holding by May 18.
