“I stopped accepting pleasure for gains” Yemi Alade spills why she stopped winning awards
Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Yemi Alade has spilled the darker phase of the Nigerian music firm and why she suddenly stopped winning awards.
According to her, things don’t seem to work out as everyone assumes in the Nigerian music firm.

This is because since she stopped selling her body for certain feats, she has been ignored incredibly.
She spilled that since she attained fame, organisers have been trading pleasure for gains for her which she did portray over the influence of pressure but as she realised her worth, she declined all the offers and this has incredibly affected her fame.
She however finalised that she is still making money and is contented with her devoted fans.
Her words:
“There was a time in the industry when everyone wanted to sl££p with me and it was like, ‘Yemi, if you don’t do this, you won’t have that. Today men are the reason I don’t win award in Nigeria”
“Going down with men was like a bridge I had to cross to get on some platforms, get some deals and even awards. When I made my decision never to engage in sxxual activities for gains, lots of opportunities were automatically blocked for me.
“They really blocked everything for me. But I’m glad coz I have my dignity, I have my life, I’m making cool cash and above all, I have fans who love me so much…”
