The Mavin Record Label signee emerged victorious in three categories namely; Best Male Artiste of The Year,
Digital Artiste of The Year and African Artiste of The Year.

Speaking about his view on Afrobeat, Rema firstly bragged about his qualities assuring the world that he is the future of Afrobeat declaring further that he will definitely prove that with the claim that he is not yet done.

He encouraged his colleagues to support their genre adding that this is just a brink glory which may fade anytime soon.

His words:

“Yeah, big shout out to the fans. Big shout out to everyone who have supported this record, the Media Houses. I must say it’s very important that I should let everyone know that I’m not here because of the awards. I’m here because it’s important to support our institutions.”

“I think it’s important to support our institutions. When I say institutions, I mean the bodies that support you to be able to achieve this major successes to get me? The media houses, the awards. I feel like we are in a very sensitive period that if we don’t give attention to our institutions, with this chance that we have, if we miss this chance, we will never have this chance again.”

“Because you can see even in Lagos or in Nigeria, the fans don’t trust the artists no more. They don’t buy tickets no more. We own AfroBeats. Do you get me? But until this year, AfroNation is coming to Nigeria. They said, Well, AfroNation has been doing Portugal. Afronation has been doing Ghana. But that shows that our utilities are failing slowly and slowly and slowly, and it will affect us big time.”

“That’s the reason why I’m here. Beats, Afro, Rape, Afro, Deez, Afro. That last class we would jump for Afro that last we were jammed for AfroBeats Awards. You get me? This is our chance because we have not the first African genre to make it big. Ricky has done his own.”

“There’s a reason why we’re doing what we’re doing right now. But I’m not going to lie, we’re bigger than… I’m making a lot of talk. We are bigger. But it’s just an example that other African-African-African are being big. We’re not the… Africa is not the first African-African-African-African to get platinum, this gold platinum, all of that. People have been doing this before us. Now that we have the chance, yes, we are paying for the fancy VMAs and the BTs and all of that, but this is our chance to protect what we have.”

“I want to say thank you. We’re down to talk. I love you. God bless. [jorge] Thank you, man. [nurse] I want to say thank you. We’ve been out to talk. I love you. God bless. [jorge] I kill you, man.”

His advanced speach melted the hearts of many as they vastly celebrated him via all the social media platforms.
