54-year-old former world champion challenges Tyson Fury’s 24-year-old brother to boxing match

A 54-year-old recently challenged Tommy Fury, WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury’s 32-year-old brother, to a professional boxing bout.

Tommy Fury was giving his time to only influencer boxing in the past but has announced his interest in also starting to feature in crossover events. This means that the influencer opened the door to being challenged by other influencers who practice other combat sports.

The younger man seemed excited about the offer, possibly thinking about the money involved.

‘Let’s do it!,’ Tommy Fury said. ‘Let’s do it! Honestly we’ll arrange it, 100%. We’ll do it at 200lbs. It would be an honour, if we can get it set up we’ll get it done definitely.’

This middle-aged challenger was none other than Roy Jones Jr., who himself is no longer a professional boxer. Jones thought that Mike Tyson would really face Tyson Fury’s father, John Fury, in the future, and that a bout between himself and the 24-year-old should also feature in the same event as an undercard.

What is unknown yet is whether Mike Tyson will accept to fight ‘Big John’, Tyson Fury’s father, who named his now-champion son after the boxing legend. John Fury has been asking for the fight, with Mike Tyson seemingly not being excited by the idea. But since people’s egos can set off unimaginable whims, it is possible Mike Tyson will agree one day.

One of the debate points should have been whether it was okay for a fighter of Roy Jones’ calibre to fight with Tommy Fury in the ring, having had more experience and better training, but such arguments are off the table since Jones is nearly old and the 24-year-old is a practitioner of the sport. That Tommy Fury is relaxed in influencer combat events does not mean he does not have what it takes to deal with a man of Jones’ age; many will agree.

I say you know what if Mike Tyson and John Fury fought then why not me and Tommy Fury fight as the co-main event. Me and Tommy Fury fight as the co main and then Tyson and John fight the main event, that would be out of this world. that would be crazy on the same night.
