African leaks Tyson Fury’s training habit before fighting Ngannou

Tyson Fury failed many fans during his bout with Francis Ngannou, while some still wonder whether the undefeated WBC heavyweight champion trained well before the bout. Fury’s African sparring partner has leaked how the heavyweight sparred in those days.

Congo’s Martin Bakole is reportedly Fury’s most frequent sparring partner. The African is also arguably the most avoided heavyweight contender in boxing, according to recent events.

While speaking to iFL TV recently, Bakole revealed the following about Fury:

‘I’ve never seen Tyson training like that. He was doing four rounds, six rounds in the gym for sparring … Maybe he’s watching this and knows he wasn’t 100% focused That’s not the Tyson Fury I know when he was preparing for Klitschko, Chisora, and Dillian Whyte. This was different.’

Fury’s image in the boxing world lost much of its glamour after he got struck down in the third round of his ten-round bout with Ngannou.

Some thought he might have lost his edge, while a good number opined that he trained lesser than was needful for the match.

‘To be honest, I was in Tyson Fury’s camp,’ Bakole said. ‘If you watch my interview [at the event] when people are asking me, I was saying I will not be surprised to see Ngannou drop Tyson Fury, because, to be honest, Tyson was not 100% focused in the gym. For me, my opinion is the signed contract with Usyk affected his mind for the Ngannou fight.’

Tyson Fury is preparing to become an undisputed world heavyweight champion. The only man in his way is Oleksander Usyk.
