Anthony Joshua’s Promoter, Eddie Hearn, reveals time of fighter’s next competition
Anthony Joshua’s next bout is in the horizon, according to event promoter Eddie Hearn. A particular date has not been named but Hearn mentioned two months the boxer will likely fight in.
Anthony Joshua has proved himself worthy of a shot at a heavyweight belt by overcoming some other contenders in the world’s heavyweight division of boxing, but has yet to land a serious contest since then.
Talks to meet up with former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder have failed, and the latest contract has also become invalid. Though promoter Eddie Hearn said there is hope for the fight to take place, the length of time that will pass for the competition to become reality seems too long for Anthony Joshua, who lately grew tired of waiting outside the ring while others got engagements.
According to Eddie Hearn, Joshua wants to be in the ring as soon as possible. This is why Hearn is working hard to put the boxer in the ring soon with somebody.
In his latest statement concerning Anthony Joshua, Eddie Hearn alleged that the fighter wanted to fight in December. The goal of Eddie Hearn’s promotion company is to make a match possible for Anthony Joshua in December. Some predicted that such a match will hold on Boxing Day, but they could be wrong.
What Eddie Hearn made clear was that Anthony Joshua’s next opponent would neither be Tyson Fury nor Olexandr Usyk. There are speculations that Filip Hrgovic and Otto Wallin are the most reasonable options to assign the fighter, but Hrgovic is waiting to challenge the undisputed world heavyweight champion that will emerge from the bout between Olexandr Usyk and Tyson Fury.
It might be undesirable for Filip Hrgovic to endanger his chances by accepting a challenge from Anthony Joshua. Losing such a fight will reduce Hrgovic’s rating and change the placement of the pieces on the board.
Concerning what thoughts are going on in Joshua’s camp concerning the next fighter, Hearn said, ‘He wants to fight in December really. Maybe, but it could spill over into January. I think realistically, December or January will be the date for his next fight, and then he’ll fight Deontay Wilder or he’ll fight for the IBF world heavyweight title.
‘He wants to become heavyweight champion, he wants to fight Deontay Wilder, he wants to fight Tyson Fury, but he also wants to stay active, and that’s what he’s asked me to do to try and get him in the ring as soon as possible.’
