It has been widely revealed that the Fury-Usyk fight contract included a two-way rematch clause, which means that either Tyson Fury or Oleksandr Usyk could request a rematch after the match. But there are complications attached to the situation, which could scatter the four belts among three people.

According to the terms of the contract, the fighter who loses has permission to ask for a rematch. There are speculations that this gives the opportunity for a trilogy since both fighters could end up losing and requesting rematches.

But few or mostly obscure are those saying that Oleksandr Usyk would win the fight, since it happens that Tyson Fury has more fans and has featured in more competitions than Usyk. However, neither of both men has lost a fight as a champion, so the contest is a very expected one among fans of boxing and some others.

WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury will face former UFC king Francis Ngannou in the ring this week to settle the question of who is the best fighter in the world. The event is currently the most announced combat competition in the world. Though Tyson Fury’s heavyweight belt will not be on the line in this fight against Ngannou, his reputation will undoubtedly be.

Sources report that Oleksandr Usyk will box with Tyson Fury on December 23 if he is fit to fight after facing Francis Ngannou. They went on to reveal that if the situation were the opposite, the bout between Fury and Usyk would be shifted to January. Yet the efforts of some to see a unified boxing heavyweight champion could be futile because of other lineal events concerned with the heavyweight sector.

Recently, Filip Hrgovic, a boxer in the heavyweight division, disclosed that a rematch would not take place between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury until his mandatory contest with the person who would be the IBF champion then. Oleksandr Usyk has custody of the IBF belt presently, including the WBA and WBO heavyweight titles.

This is how it is going to play out, according to Hrgovic: ‘The IBF wrote that if I won my last fight and if Usyk beat Daniel Dubois, the IBF world enforce my mandatory status to fight Usyk for the title. The IBF has now allowed Tyson Fury and Usyk to do a unification first.

‘The winner of that fight is mandated to fight me immediately after with no other intervening fight, so I expect to fight for the heavyweight championship early next year. I’m disappointed by the delay, but I will stay ready and I won’t let it distract me from my goal of winning the title. Whether against Usyk or Fury, my time is coming.’

Filip Hrgovic can get the opportunity to meet either Tyson Fury or Oleksandr Usyk in the ring only in 2024. Keith Connolly, his manager, said the boxer is excited.

‘Filip is about to be a free agent so myself and the rest of Team Hrgovic will sit down with our longtime partners, Wasserman Boxing and Eddie Hearn, before we speak to anyone else concerning Filip’s future to see what their prospective plan would be moving forward. Filip is excited about his future and fighting for the heavyweight title in 2024.’

Some could argue it is impossible for Hrgovic to win either Fury or Usyk, but that can be disproven.
