Carl Froch is a British former professional boxer who competed from 2002 to 2014. He is known for his achievements in the super middleweight division. After retiring from boxing, Froch has worked as a boxing analyst and commentator. He was born in 1977 in Nottingham, United Kingdom. Carl Froch is known by his nickname ‘The Cobra’. He stands at a height of 185 cm, and has a reach of 75 inches.

His reaction to the astounding reaction of his fellow countryman Anthony Joshua was a mixed one, as he admitted that Anthony Joshua chose a good trainer but that the action was disrespectful to Derrick James.

Statements from Anthony Joshua’s team alleged that the switch was just for a while, since Anthony Joshua still considered Derrick James to be his coach. The thing most people are wondering about is how James feels about the temporary relief of services. Was Joshua dissatisfied by James’ performance? Is it possible to briefly dump one’s coach after a mutual agreement? Some might argue that there is a possibility that Anthony Joshua’s team wanted to reduce the perceived gravity of the situation.

Rumours of Anthony Joshua’s December fight have started to spread with increasing intensity. Most think the ‘temporary switch’ was among his steps in preparing for the bout, and no opponent has been named yet. It clearly would not be either Olexandr Usyk or Tyson Fury who might meet in the ring this December or early next year.

Ben Davison oversaw Tyson Fury’s victory over former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder and is respectable in the boxing world. Derrick James has also seen Anthony Joshua through great performances, but it seems that Davison is what Joshua needs to return to the top. Since losing his unified titles, Anthony Joshua has been struggling to return to the limelight. One would agree that it is unlikely he would return to James if he found Davison’s work to be more to his liking.

Carl Froch wondered how James was feeling. The development was bad for both business and reputation.

‘Ben Davison is a good trainer,’ admitted Froch. ‘I like his tactics and the way he breaks down fights tactically from round one, so if Ben and AJ are working together, it will be an interesting addition to AJ’s mindset, and maybe tactics as well.

‘But I I don’t know the extent of how much he’s working with him? But I can’t see any disadvantages to AJ having a little bit of work with Ben Davison. I think Ben Davison’s a great, great coach.

‘He’s had some good success as a coach and is dedicated, he puts the time into his students, so I’ve got nothing against that.

‘But I don’t understand what AJ’s thought process is, because why is he not just sticking with Derek James and sticking with him and listening to him and working with him. I think he’s a bit disrespectful actually to Derek James, but I don’t know how Derek James feels about that.’
