Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou has revealed who he thinks is the hardest puncher in combat sports.

The heavyweight boxer made this known while talking to The Last Stand recently.

Francis Ngannou left both fans and foes in awe on October 28 after knocking down the world’s best boxer in the third round of their ten-round bout in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

In his reply to whether he considered himself the hardest puncher in combat sports, Francis Ngannou answered, ‘Definitely’.

Before leaving the UFC for greener pastures in the PFL, Francis Ngannou was the incumbent champion in the UFC’s heavyweight division and the most feared of all the MMA artists in the promotion. This was because he usually knocked out his opponents in the shortest amount of time and knew how to take blows.

Talking about his view of Tyson Fury’s punch during their encounter, the new heavyweight contender admitted that Fury’s blow was the hardest he had encountered yet. Ngannou went further to explain.

‘Fury punches pretty good. I ate some of his shots – he punches very strong. And he was with 10oz gloves, because MMA fights are 4oz gloves. In boxing it’s 10oz. I think, so far, he is the top [hard hitter.]

Though Ngannou lost to Fury in their boxing competition by a split decision, Ngannou is not ready to call his contest with Tyson Fury a day, having believed he was cheated by the judges. A rematch might happen either next year or the following year.

On another scene, Deontay Wilder, whom many considered the hardest puncher in the professional boxing scene before Ngannou’s arrival, will be meeting Tyson Fury’s friend and sparring partner on December 23.

But Wilder has taken time to predict the result of the faceoff between his American countryman Jarrel Miller, and Daniel Dubois.

‘Big Baby’ Miller and Daniel Dubois… He don’t like me and he knows I don’t like him, so if it’s f**k me he knows it’s f**k you!’ said Wilder. ‘I’m going to go with Jarrell on that fight.

‘I got ‘Big Baby’ due to his size and experience. He’s a talker and to see Dubois getting talked to you can see him get nervous.’
