Francis Ngannou says Tyson Fury behaved ‘more like a playboy’
Former UFC heavyweight king Francis Ngannou revealed his opinion on Tyson Fury’s behaviour, saying that the WBC heavyweight champion was more like a playboy.
The duo’s bout last year nearly ended in one of the biggest upset in boxing history when Ngannou came close to beating the world champion as a debutant.
But damage was already done to Fury’s invincible image by the end. Fans around the globe watched the champion get knocked down in the third round of the bout, and saw Ngannou nearly defeating the champion.
Later down the road in Ngannou’s career, he is now preparing to face another respectable boxer in the person of Britain’s Anthony Joshua who is Fury’s countryman.
Now Ngannou has related with Fury and Joshua in the boxing business, so he juxtaposed both boxers in one of his statements to The Mirror.
‘Anthony Joshua never trash talks, his personality is more serious unlike Tyson Fury who is more like a playboy. I think when it comes to fighting, they both know how to fight and that’s what I’m focused on.
‘He might have been nervous but that doesn’t mean anything, in fact I think being nervous means he is taking things very serious. It’s very important because he’s going to do his best to show up on the day with everything.’
Joshua who beat Swedish southpaw Otto Wallin on December 23 at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, wants to become a three-time world heavyweight champion.
Ngannou himself looks forward to an opportunity to contend for the undisputed world heavyweight title. Joshua is the man he should beat before getting there.
