Okolie is of Nigerian descent and was born in Hackney, London in the year 1992, according to Wikipedia.

Apart from the aforementioned WBO title, he has also won commonwealth, British, and European titles during the course of his somewhat noiseless career, and will compete on May 24th for the WBC Bridgerweight title.

His opponent Lukasz Rozanski said the following recently concerning the fight:

‘I’m defending my world title in my own backyard, in my city, fighting against a former world champion.

‘It’s a fantastic fight, for moments like these, I’ve trained hard all my life.’

Okolie understood whom he was going to face, according to his bold message for his opponent. Speaking to Boxxer, the Brit boasted as follows:

‘I’m excited to go to Poland and test myself yet again on away ground. Rozanski is a good champion, with an explosive style, but I’m coming to do some serious damage. He has never seen power like mine.’

A win for Okolie would get him into the limelight once again.
