Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Threads owner Mark Zuckerberg, who is also a professional martial artist, posted a picture of himself on a hospital bed recently, saying he tore his ACL while sparring and had undergone a replacement surgery.

The 39-year-old was seen in a YouTube video recently talking to The Verge about his desire to get an opponent to fight with in a professional setting. His initially-expected bout with X (formerly Twitter) owner Elon Musk could not take place because of Musk’s seeming lack of seriousness. Maybe it was in preparation for whatever contest he had in mind that he got wounded.

While talking to The Verge, he revealed when he would likely have his next competition: ‘Maybe next year. Not Elon [Musk], but someone. I want to keep competing, but I just need to find someone.’

The post on Zuckerberg’s Instagram wall read, ‘Tore my ACL sparring and just got out of surgery to replace it. Grateful for the doctors and team taking care of me.

‘I was training for a competitive MMA fight early next year, but now that’s delayed a bit. Still looking forward to doing it after I recover. Thanks to everyone for the love and support.’

A bout between him and tech lover Elon Musk seems to be  permanently off the table.

Somewhere else, a high-profile boxing enthusiast called Tim Bradley, who affirmed that Francis Ngannou won Tyson Fury in their recent boxing match in Saudi Arabia, in which Ngannou was just a debutant, has carefully stated how he got to that conclusion.

‘I’m not one of those guys that says in the moment ‘he did a lot better than I expected, so he wins the fight’ – hell no,’ began Bradley. ‘This ain’t no brownie points show. I’m not finna give my credibility away just for the hell of it. This is serious.

‘Watching this fight and scoring this fight the way I know how – because trust me, I’ve taken the course on how to score fights … I’m not mad at the decision, but in my book, I thought Francis Ngannou won this damn fight. Without a doubt. By one point, he snuck it out. And he put the champion on the f***ing canvas! What else more does he have to do?

‘You put the champion on the canvas and most people are saying he only won three rounds? Are you kidding me? Stop. That means that he’s only won one other round beside the round that he knocked freakin’ Fury down.’

Tim Bradley is not alone in the group of those giving Francis Ngannou the winner’s ovation, but Ngannou remains the defeated in the record book.
