Andy Townsend proves why Heung-Min Son not Premier League legend

Former player turned pundit Andy Townsend used some time to prove why Tottenham Hotspur skipper Heung-Min Son should not be called a Premier League legend.

Son made himself Tottenham’s highest goal scorer after netting against Luton Town recently. That was his 160th goal for the London club and the possible reason for the big unofficial title.

Speaking not long ago, Son seemed oblivious of the number of goals he had scored.

‘I hadn’t even realised how many goals I’d scored.

‘Playing for one club for almost 10 years is an incredible feeling and a big honour for me. I want to thank everyone who played with me and coached me for their big effort.’

During Townsend’s conversation with talkSPORT Breakfast, Townsend said that Son was a top player.

‘He [Son] is a top player, he’s a great; that word “legend” should only be used in the right context.’

‘Someone put that on your script about me earlier and it’s not right.’

‘I think that Son has been a great player and great operator for Spurs, but a legend? No.’

Some fans might disagree, and Townsend has never been the official decider.
