Paul Pogba finally given four-year ban for doping
Footballer and Frenchman Paul Pogba got served a four-year ban after being found guilty of doping in Italy.
A confirmatory test was conducted after a random test result showed he used testosterone.
Pogba still pleads not guilty, and said the following about the development:
‘Everything I have built in my professional career has been taken away from me.’
The skipper’s club, Juventus, published a statement on the situation.
‘Juventus Football Club announces that today the player Paul Labile Pogba received a precautionary suspension order from the National Anti-Doping Tribunal following the adverse outcome of the analyzes carried out on 20 August 2023. The Company reserves the right to evaluate the next procedural steps.’
However, Pogba will not let this bad story become the last.
‘When I am free of legal restrictions, the full story will become clear.
‘As a professional athlete I would never do anything to enhance my performance by using banned substances and have never disrespected or cheated fellow athletes and supporters of any of the teams I have played for, or against.’
As things stand, the player might have to retire, or, if he is lucky, go to Saudi Arabia.
