After a highly-intresting and intriguing match, Spanish senior female team La Roja  has beaten the English Three Lionesses by one goal to win the 2023 Women World Cup.

This much expected feat made them the first to possess the under-17 and under-20 championship titles, including the senior world title simultaneously. Their victory and accomplishment has since been posted on Facebook by the Guinness World Record in celebration of their thunderous victory.

Though the Iberian team dominated the game all through the match to the point that their ball possession tally was more than half the pie chart, many did continue to hope that a certain English luck would help England make it through once more.

Remember that the England senior team had to crush stronger and better Nigerian female team the Super Falcons on their way to the semi finals to the wonder of spectators who said they could not understand how to explain the mystery. Nigeria could not score a goal against the British team till the final whistle of the second-half extra time, making way for a penalty kick that ended with the West African team coming short by two goals.

Many were confident that this luck would keep running, but a first half goal by Olga Carmona became the annihilator of England’s chance at lifting the world cup when they could not find a reply till the end of the game. Though Jenni Hermoso’s penalty miss later made fans wonder if the English luck was working again, Spain protected their goal till the end.

Some sports commentators agree that Spain’s victory over England seem to be a hard-earned accomplishment, pointing out that a stronger team like that should have the ability to do more.

Joyful La Roja ammased themselves in front of their goal post in a warm pile after ending England’s race. English coach Sarina Wiegman could not hide her disappointment in the final score, saying she thought she would deliver a different report card to England her employers. Remember she had lost a world cup race before while coaching Netherland’s female team, at which time the USA left her team in the second position.

Now that it happened again with her as coach of English female senior team, she might have set a world record, though an unpleasant one. But she did lose to fellow champions, some could say, since she only lost at finals. One could say she might win the third time.

This year’s females’ football world cup ended with two European teams wrestling for the first position. Also, no African or Asian team made it to the finals. The last American team was defeated in the semi finals.

Though the teams that featured in the contest were both unique and passionate, it seems that African and Asian countries still have a lot to do in their football teams.

However, Spain displayed a surprising accomplishment, since none thought they would reach the finals at the beginning. The team’s fame only started when they continued to prove strong and skillful till the finals. Their defeat of England to become the best women’s football team in the world was just a crown long awaiting their great tactics and entertaining sportsmanship.
