Spanish Football Federation Starts A Sexual-Assault Investigation Against Rubiales
The governing body of football in Spain has commenced what they call a ‘sexual violence protocol’ concerning the kissing of Jenni Hermoso, a female football player, by Luis Rubiales, the incumbent president of the Spanish Football Federation.
This came in the wake of the plethora of incidents that have taken happened, after the highly controversial kiss took place in real time on international television in the sight of both officials, adults and children.
Though the football president released a statement claiming the kiss he gave the player on her lips had been consensual, Jenni Hermoso has refuted the it. What continues to make people wonder though was why she had said before this that it was consensual.
It has been revealed that the Spanish Football Federation has threatened to sue Jenni Hermoso over the disgraceful situation. It has painted the group black, and exposed them to the magnification lens of the global public in a way that was both discomforting and embarrassing.
Our protocol is currently activated and in the midst of investigating the events, thus we demand the utmost respect for the right to privacy and dignity of all individuals involved. As the protection delegate for sexual violence, my duty is to adhere to the protocol and safeguard the privacy of those affected by this incident and of the Sexual Violence Advisory Committee.
– Maria Dolores Martinez Madrona, Spanish protocol protection officer
FIFA has commanded RFEF (the Spanish Football Federation) not to dare contact Jenni Hermoso.
It has also been said by reliable sources that Luis Rubiales would surely appear before the Spanish Sports Court to answer questions about the incident.
FIFA has since banned the president for participating in any activity involving the Spanish Football Federation both at the national and international scene.
Many have called for the Spanish former footballer to resign, and a lot of players have quitted the crew till the president was removed. It does not look like he would remain president for long.
