Victor Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, hinted a legal action could be taken against Napoli for the protection of his client.

This came in the wake of the backlash that followed Victor Osimhen’s unsavoury penalty kick in their recent match against Bologna. Osimhen was replaced with another player, four minutes before the final whistle. Neither Bologna nor Napoli scored a goal all through the match.

The biggest matter was that, apart from missing what seemed to be the best chance for Napoli to score, Victor Osimhen also cost Napoli two points by causing the draw. Napoli would have earned one more point and retained the lost 2 if he had scored. It is very understandable that Napoli expected a better performance from their highly-priced player, who is among the highest earners in the club.

The present controversy was kindled by a very unprofessional post Napoli released on TikTok, which was a video that seems to troll their great player, Victor Osimhen for the penalty kick he lost against Bologna.

Football fans around the world know Victor Osimhen’s place in Napoli’s first team, and many recall how he led Napoli to victory last season.

That social media post could start a problem between Victor Osimhen and Napoli, which will end in an unfriendly parting. By posting this video that attacks Victor Osimhen for the loss he brought to the club, Napoli might have unwittingly told Victor Osimhen how little they care about his psychological health. Since such posts should not be associated with a club one is playing for, clearly, Victor Osimhen’s performance might be affected adversely.

Roberto Calenda reacted to this mental blow Napoli might have unwittingly dealt on his client by releasing the following statement.

‘What happened today on Napoli’s official profile on the TikTok platform is not acceptable,’ Calenda said. ‘A video mocking Victor was first made public and then, but now belatedly, deleted. A serious fact that causes very serious damage to the player and adds to the treatment that the boy is suffering in the last period between media trials and fake news. We reserve the right to take legal action and any useful initiative to protect Victor.’

Now Napoli might still punish Victor Osimhen for challenging the head coach’s decision to substitute him in the match against Bologna. Osimhen was seen in a video, speaking unhappily about the head coach’s action. Napoli has since revealed they would not fine Victor Osimhen.

Victor Osimhen was not happy with the substitution

A mandatory effort might be made to caution other players and staff and maintain order in the team by punishing Victor Osimhen. Given that it is possible for Victor Osimhen to take them to court for their ungentlemanly post, how the matter will end might be interesting.
