UFC: bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley help’s home university win by his support
After Sean O’Malley’s controversial victory over Aljermain Sterling, O’Malley seems decided to enjoy the fame as much as possible. Apart from putting a tattoo on his face in Latinate letters to prove he is now the champion, he also graced a university sporting event with his presence recently.
The superstar who was born in Montana used his presence to goad the University of Montana to victory on Saturday, at a spectacular American Football match.
It all started when he appeared with his signature coloured hair before the match, inspiring excitement among both the home and away fans. Likenesses of his appearance at the event started appearing in social media. It was evident many were not expecting the UFC star at the match.
The match held at Washington-Grizzly Stadium in Montana, home of University of Montana’s ‘Grizzlies’. Sean O’Malley was sighted raising the NO. 37 flag just before the contest between the Grizzlies and the Ferris State Bulldogs.
At the end of the match, the final scores read 17-10 to the favour of the Grizzlies, who seemed to have performed especially well due to the respectable titleholder among their supporters. The team was rewarded by having to be greeted in person by him at the end of the match, where the squad sang their team’s songs in the presence of their fellow winner.
They also enjoyed his visit as he did theirs, from all indications.
Israel Adesanya recently threw cold water on the fire being nursed by Aljermain Sterling and Merab Dvalishvili concerning how Sean O’Malley became a champion. The TKO which they argue was a wrong call was supported by Adesanya, who opined that the former champion was already finished and too weak to defend himself.
Even though Dvalishvili has a bad history with the same referee, Marc Goddard, concerning the ‘untimely stoppage’ of a certain match in the past, many think Dvalishvili’s main reason for calling for a rematch between Sterling and O’Malley is because he rues to fight his friend, Sterling, in the octagon.
From all indications, the rematch topic seems to be a dead one.
