Man Utd: why Jadon Sancho might not apologise to coach, Erik Ten Hag
Jadon Sancho still would not apologise for his social media post, even after being kept out of Manchester United’s main team by coach Erik Ten Hag.
The trouble started with Jadon Sancho’s being benched by coach Ten Hag. This exemption happened allegedly because of Manchester United’s loss to The Gunners, and the coach’s opinion on the causes of the loss.
After Ten Hag revealed that he benched Sancho because of the less-than-accurate result Sancho got during the training session, the player must have felt defamed, since no one would like to be talked about in such manner. And Jadon Sancho is a young player whose future depends a lot on his image.
So Sancho went to his social media handle and refuted coach Ten Hag’s claims, seemingly having no other way to confront the troubling situation. If the coach had done it to get the player to start working hard for fear of backlash, the coach soon discovered that he made the wrong decision.
Since that time, Jadon Sancho has been training away from the main team. Though he deleted the post, Ten Hag would not add him back to the main team, possibly to caution other players.
But freelance journalist, Fabrizio Romano thinks that only Sancho’s direct apology to his superiors at Manchester United would get him back to the main team.
‘For Jadon Sancho, I’m receiving many questions about why the situation is not getting resolved, why the situation is still the same, why Sancho is not with the squad…
‘Guys, at the moment, from Manchester United, they want Jadon Sancho to apologise and to speak directly to the manager and the coaching staff to resolve the situation. This is the only way to resolve things. As of today, Jadon Sancho has still not apologised and this is why the situation is still in limbo and why there is still no green light for him to return to the first-team squad.
‘There’s a way back for Jadon Sancho if he says sorry and apologises to the coaching staff. Of course, it’s also about discussing problems together – but this is not the case yet. Sancho has his own reasons, but Manchester United were not happy with the player’s attitude and the performances in training, so let’s see what Sancho will decide to do and if they can come to an agreement to try and change the situation.
‘Otherwise, the January market will probably be the only solution for Jadon Sancho. I’m not aware of the other Man United players position in this case, but I think they all know it’s just up to the player and the coaching staff to sort out, not them.’
It would be hard for the player who feels defamed to apologise. It seems the January transfer window would be his only opportunity to play for any team. Meanwhile, he will continue to collect his full salary till then.
