Conor Gallagher discusses present form
Chelsea skipper Conor Gallagher talked about his current performance level after scoring 10 goals this season.
Reports from the Blues revealed that Gallagher recently missed training for some days because of a virus, but fans would naturally like to hear he would be on the pitch against Newcastle United today.
The footballer was important especially in the last several matches the Londoners have featured in, and said the following to chelseafc.com during an interview:
‘It’s definitely felt like a bit of a breakthrough. I’ve said it a number of times – I want to be a player that scores goals from midfield. I think I have the ability to do so, and I wasn’t able to do it so well earlier this season.
‘That might be to do with luck, or to do with myself, but to score four goals in the last few games has been brilliant and fills me with more confidence to hopefully go on and get some more.
‘I’ve been getting in the same positions all season, to be honest. It’s really small margins but if you look back at our games, I’ve very often been getting in the same positions from where I’ve scored those few goals lately.
‘Thankfully, the boys have found me a few times and I’ve managed to score a few, but it’s all about consistency, continuing to do that and helping the team score more goals.’
Chelsea and Newcastle’s clashes this season have been unpredictable and laden with impressive action. Fans will wish to watch the Magpies revenge after being painfully knocked out of the Carabao Cup race by Chelsea.
