Deontay Wilder, the greatest American contemporary heavyweight, was speaking to Instant Casino when he made the following statement:.
‘Otto Wallin has got a huge chance to upset the fight [with Anthony Joshua]. Everyone has got a chance, it depends what dog they bring to the fight and how hungry they are on the night.

‘Even Parker, he has a great deal of a chance, no matter how hard I hit, or what I possess.

‘He has as much chance as I, because I still have to perform and bring my training and preparation. Parker has stated many times that he’s a new man and new fighter, and when we came face-to-face he looked very confident.

‘He really believed in his words and after feeling his energy, it allowed me to come home and train even harder, because I know what I am up against.

‘That’s all a fighter wants from another fighter – that they come and they bring their best.

‘I’m coming to bring my all, you’re looking at a man that is willing to die in the ring, I’ve proved that many times and it’s not going to stop until the end of my career.’

Matchroom Sports promoter Eddie Hearn said recently that the fight between Deontay Wilder and Joseph Parker would not be as interesting as that between Otto Wallin and former unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.

Hearn’s reason was that Anthony Joshua’s image as a fallen champion, who has announced time and time again that he was under pressure from fans, pundits, and fighters and was not enjoying competing anymore, has a better profile than Wilder, whom many see as confident. In addition, Joshua’s opponent is a greater threat.

The fighter expected to lose on December 23 among the two past champions is Anthony Joshua. This is because fans expect Deontay Wilder, the man who struck down Tyson Fury several times during the course of their trilogy, to display the same terrific power against Parker.

Yet Wilder’s confidence is presently doubtful following his aforementioned statement.
