Back-from-injury Carney Chukwuemeka makes return statement
Chelsea’s attacking midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka made a statement recently following the Blues’ emphatic defeat at Anfield.
The Englishman who was recently sidelined by a knee injury said the following to Chelseafc.com:
‘It was good to get some minutes after coming back from a long injury.
‘We just have to keep working hard in training and for me personally, I just want to keep working my way up to full match fitness.
‘We’re obviously disappointed because we came here in high spirits expecting to get a result, but it wasn’t meant to be.’
‘We’re a young team and we’re still growing together.
‘I wouldn’t say that it was too big of a challenge for us, I would just say that we weren’t at it. We’re growing together.
‘We’re getting the squad back together now which is good, we just have to keep working hard in training and gelling with one another – creating a team rather than individuals – and then we will definitely have some good results coming up.
‘We will learn from this, keep improving and definitely bounce back for the next game.’
