Chelsea coach Mauricio Pochettino speaks about Noni-Madueke video, ‘it’s a thing you need to avoid’

A video has surfaced of Noni Madueke doing something unexpected for a player whose club is in this situation. Chelsea coach Mauricio Pochettino reacted with controlled disapproval.

Noni Madueke was recently listed as one of the injured players at Chelsea, and reports from Stamford Bridge agreed the injury was only a minor one. The English player got a muscle injury while working for England’s Under-21s but seems to have recovered fully, since it is rumoured he could return to Chelsea’s squad to continue playing for his club this weekend.

But a bad incident took place as he was away nursing his injury, according to coach Mauricio Pochettino, who could not hide his disapproval. While the club had awaited Noni Maduaeke’s return, a video of Noni Madueke’s unauthorised activity while on injury leave came to light. Noni Madueke was seen partying in the video. Mauricio Pochettino said in the press conference that every player at Chelsea should know they should avoid such things.

Alcohol use and the putting of needless stress on healing muscles do not make for speedy recovery, and Chelsea really needs more hands in their matches these days. Mauricio Pochettino called the video a small issue but condemned Noni Madueke’s action totally.

‘In my opinion, he is working hard to try and recover,’ said Mauricio Pochettino. ‘He came back from the national break 10 days ago. Now he is well. He is trying to be on the same level as the team.

‘This video, we were talking about that, it’s a thing you need to avoid. All of the players need to know that when you are a player of Chelsea, you need to avoid these things. It wasn’t a big issue, but we need to avoid these types of situation. He is recovering from the national team and we will see if he is fit.’
